It has even stronger songwriting than Death Magnetic.

The production on DM says that's not true.

My first Rÿche was Empire. When I heard Mindcrime I was not impressed. But after a few listens it sunk in and now I view it as a masterpiece.

Same.
But I always thought “Eyes of a Stranger” is an awesome song!

Just listened to this one last night! One of my top 2 albums ever. The guitar tone is flawless. The songwriting is very strong. The performances by each member of the band are perfect. And yet the production has just enough bite to keep it heavy (a flaw of Empire). This is very nearly the perfect album.

Same. I was late to the party for various reasons, and when I first heard it I was like "it's okay but I don't get the big deal about it." It took a while.Pethead wrote:When I heard Mindcrime I was not impressed. But after a few listens it sunk in and now I view it as a masterpiece.
My 1st Queensryche exposure was the E.P. and then "The Warning."

Fantastic album, the guitars are absolutely amazing! Wore out two cassettes in the late 80's and at least two cds.

Fantastic album indeed. It's strange because otherwise Queensrÿche doesn't really click with me.
