Weird guitar question

I really like when you can hear the acoustic strumming behind the distorted sound from the amplifier... anyone else, or do you prefer to not hear the strumming?

I mean, strumming the strings of an electric guitar still makes a sound that never goes through the amp, a type of thick almost scratchy sound. Many bands don't have that audible, but sometimes I'll be able to hear the sound of the fingers on the strings aside from the sound coming from the amp, and I think it sounds cool.Dustofyears wrote:Don't really understand the question...you mean you like to hear acoustic guitars behind distorted guitars?

Neal Morse loves the sound of an acoustic guitar playing in unison with an electric guitar riff. Even 12 string or Nashville tuning. If you watch his video of Man in the Iron Cage you can see it.

That isn't quite the same as strumming a chord, but I'm sure he does that alot as well.

Strumming is necessary to create softer sections of musical compositions. Plus it just sounds good.
