Top 10 Stryper songs
What are your top 10 Stryper songs, and why?
10. The Devil Doesn't Live Here: One of their most aggressive songs for sure. Very fast and Michael had more grit in his voice than usual.
9. Sorry: Was not expecting something this heavy from Stryper. Great riff. Kinda cheesy tho.
8. Transgressor: Such a great way to kick of the new album. Really good riffing and structuring.
7. Reborn: Heavy riff, and the chorus is way more Stryper than anything else on the album.
6. King of Kings: Chorus is a little poppy, but still good, and the riff and solo are top-notch for the band.
5. Legacy: Really good chorus, and great melodic riffing.
4. The Writings On The Wall: One of their best choruses for sure. I may find this band overrated, but they have some absolute top-tier hooks.
3. The Way: Cheesy chorus or not, this song has such good melodies. Love it.
2. Lonely: Cheesy Stryper ballad like always, but it's kind of beautiful at the same time, especially the opening solo/riff.
1. Marching into Battle: One of their heaviest riffs, and I love the feeling of the chorus. Not sure this is even hair metal at this point, but it's not full power, which is Stryper's secondary genre IMO.

Re: Top 10 Stryper songs
Not in order:
The Writings on the Wall
In God We Trust
The Reign
Lonely
To Hell with the Devil
Yahweh
More Than a Man
Caught in the Middle
The Way
Te Amo
Each of those songs are some of the best songs ever made and I would be heartbroken if I never ever got a chance to hear them.
Here are the songs that came to my mind when I did the list and just listed their best songs but got left out in favor of others:
Loud 'n' Clear
Soldiers Under Command
Free
Rock the Hell Out of You
God
Saved by Love
The One
The Devil Doesn't Live Here
Saved by Love is the one that probably stings the most when I had to leave that out of the list. Soldiers Under Command is another. And maybe Rock the Hell Out of You.
I'm a sucker for beautiful catchy melodies that are written in minor key so my preference for Stryper's songs goes heavily towards that.
By the way, Rebel by Stratovarius has a similar chorus to The Writings on the Wall:

Re: Top 10 Stryper songs
My top 2 songs will always be Soldiers Under Comnand and Yahweh. I think the next few are Free, Transgressor, and Water into Wine. The rest would depend on my mood.

Re: Top 10 Stryper songs
I haven't listened to a whole bunch of Stryper but some songs I love are To Hell With The Devil(as overplayed as it is), Revelation, No More Hell To Pay, The Devil Doesn't Live Here, Transgressor, and Middle Finger Messiah.
