Very unique. I like to think this album is an entire new genre, Prog-Thrash. Fav song: Frayed Ends Of Sanity.

Flawless. Fav Song: Leper Messiah.

3. Metallica
The first non-thrash Metallica album. Fav Song: Wherever I May Roam, Holier Than Thou, and Of Wolf And Man are epic.

4. 72 Seasons
Metallica nailed it with this album. Amazing. Fav Song: Inamorata

5. Ride The Lightning
Great album. Still seeing the band find their way a bit. Fav Song: Trapped Under Ice

6. Death Magnetic
Underrated in my opinion. Fav Song: That Day That Never Comes

7. Kill 'Em All
Really good. Fav Song: Four Horseman

8. Hardwired... To Self-Destruct
Good album. Fav Song: Am I Savage?

9. Load
Not as bad as people say. Fav Song: Until It Sleeps

10. Reload
Not as good as Load, Slither freaking sucks. Fav Song: The Unforgiven II

11. St. Anger
If you fix the problems(snare, guitar tone, production, off-key vocals) then it's actually pretty good. Fav Song: Dirty Window

12. Lulu
This album is absolutely atrocious. Fav Song: HAHAHAHAHAHA YEAH RIGHT!!

Ride the Lightning: solid throughout
Kill 'Em All: has my favorite song from the band (The Four Horsemen) and some other fun tracks, but some dull moments
And Justice for All: great stuff but suffers from poor production
Master of Puppets: some amazing tracks but some dull stuff as well
Death Magnetic: lots of fun but too long, also suffers from poor production

I'm not familiar enough with any of the others to include them in my ranking.

If I had to listen to ALL of their albums in their entirety, I would probably go bonkers.   A good portion of their material just sounds crappy to me.  There is some brilliant stuff here and there but I only know a few albums.  Tried to listen to other albums like "Death Magnetic" and "St. Anger" but I just can't.

I actually enjoy this album, but it isn't good. The Unnamed Feeling is overall the best imo.
10. Load
Good album, but below average for Metallica. The Thorn Within is my favorite.
9. ReLoad
Might be worse than Load if not for one song. Unforgiven II is amazing.
8. Hardwired... to Self Destruct
Really good. Spit Out the Bone is the best Metallica song since Dyer's Eve.
7. Kill 'Em All
Pure fun album. Seek & Destroy is the best, mainly for the intro.
6. 72 Seasons
Gives me hope that they haven't fully fallen off. Room of Mirrors is my favorite, mainly for the solo.
5. Metallica
Got them popular for a reason. Great lyrics here, but the riff to Wherever I May Roam brought it to the top for me.
4. Death Magnetic
So underrated. Great riffs here. All Nightmare Long is great, brutal song.
3. Ride the Lightning
The best guitar tone. The top 3 are all some of the best albums ever made. Fade to Black is the best song here, so emotional.
2. Master of Puppets
Also my #2 album off all time. Master of Puppets, Disposable Heroes... Orion is the best instrumental I know. But Welcome Home is the best on this album, the lyrics are amazing and the riff in the chorus feels heavier than it actually is due to the raw emotion.
1. And Justice for All
Every song here is amazing. The title track has a great chorus. Dyer's Eve is extremely fast. But One is my favorite song ever. The soft parts are emotional. The riffs are extremely heavy. The solo is amazing and battles Tornado of Souls for my favorite solo ever. And the lyrics are emotional, heavy, and have a great message. Amazing song from an amazing album
