Just listened to this yesterday. Made me realize how many awesome songs it does have.

I like C2C, but I think it's easily the weakest of their full-length albums—not counting OtF, which is its own thing.

I think if you took those 3 off you'd have a more solid album.

Only song I don't like is If I Was There.

All this hate for If I Was There. I like the song a lot, except for the grammatical error in the title.

It's still the most boring Tourniquet song of all, musically speaking.

I also really like Enveloped in Python and If Pigs Could Fly (except the elongated ending of Tourniquet song riffs--it's too long).

I always thought If I Was There was one of the beloved songs, similar to When The Love is Right. I've seen YouTube videos from all over the world seeing churches playing it.

I often thought that if Ted would have shortened all the songs to 3-4.5 minutes long, the album would have gone over better. I think the songs would have been better arranged more rock/pop/folk, not these complex arrangements.

"In Death We Rise" is also one that attacks the listener with chloroform.

I was thinking more along the arrangements in Stop the Bleeding or Vanishing Lessons.

I know there is plenty of slow and weird tunes… I need to listen to the album again. 

All I know off the top of my head is that I like: White Knucklin’ the Rosary and Enveloped in Python. I think The Tell-Tale Heart is good too.

I used to think Bats is the worst but I like the somewhat dark middle section a lot.

Agree with most, America and If I was There got deleted from my playlist, the rest is pretty ok with sone great tunes. White Knucklin and Going going gone are my highlights.

I haven’t listened to this in a while. When it came out, I remember listening to it nonstop. Anyway, my favorites are:

"Bats" was my introduction to Tourniquet, and "If I Was There" followed closely afterwards, so they both hold special places in my heart. But my favorite tracks are "White Knuckling the Rosary" and "The Tell-Tale Heart." Much of the rest of the album is forgettable for some reason, but I did re-listen to it all a number of months ago, and I was surprised how much I liked it. My least favorite tracks are probably "America" and the title track.

One of the first things I noticed when I joined the CMR in the spring of 2022 was how diverse personal opinion and enjoyment are. I almost got myself in a few fights arguing that a certain song was objectively better than another. While I understand there are some standards of quality, it's cool to dialogue with each other and try out some new, some old music because someone else is enjoying it.

I don't care for bats at all, and the title track is one of my favourites off this album!! But now I'm going to go back and listen to your picks and see what I've missed!

You still need to admit that Mirror of Souls is one of the greatest songs ever.

Crawl To China is one of my favourite post Guy Tourniquet albums.  I think Lukes vocals on it are perfect for the album style.  Yes, it's not as heavy as the other albums, but I love it.

I think this "hate" over If I was there, comes from unexpected ballad from the band.
But the song is pretty good, I like it a lot, it makes me reflect everytime.

There are parts in the lyrics that aren't often used in christian songs and it might have been an option when it says: 

"If I was there, would I hide in shame or would I laugh it loud?" 

"If I was there, would I even care...?"

These were the standard behaviour of people from my reading of the scriptures.

If I Was There is a lot better than When the Love Is Right and Twilight.

The Carry the Wounded version of My Promise is Tourniquet's best ballad.
