Pre-order now 'Mosaic', the new album from Theocracy

The more I listen to Return to Dust the better it gets. It’s vaulted into my top 3 Theocracy songs. The title track- Mosaic -is quite good but not quite at the same level. Return to Dust is just brilliant.

I haven't listened to any of the singles yet. I don't often do this, but when the album releases, I plan to give it a focused listen while doing nothing else. Really looking forward to it. I love Theocracy.

The upcoming album is likely to become a beloved favorite for many, if not all of you, especially due to its magnificent final track!

I've heard both of the tracks released from the new album, and while they are excellent musically, I really miss Val's guitar work on them. He just has a certain feel that can't be replaced.

I'm with you on this point. The two new songs seemed like awesome, straightforward power metal tracks with awesome guitar solos. But Val's solos on AtWB and GS integrated so well into the songs they catapulted the songs into another level completely. Too bad he wrecked things for himself...

I hadn't thought of walmart; I'm not sure if we have that in Canada. But now that I've pre-ordered on ITunes (on my Windows PC--I couldn't do it on my Android device) I'm good to go. Friday, get here sooner!

I’ve got it preordered on iTunes as well….but I also purchased the vinyl from Ulterium Records as part of a combined order with other music.

I just got the Mosaic CD! in the mail! It’s like Christmas coming 3 days early. Will report back.

I’d say it is Theocracy’s heaviest album, both lyrically and musically.

Mine was dispatched yesterday.  Hopefully arriving soon!

After two listens, I say it is Theocracy’s heaviest. It often reminds me of Symphony X’s sound since Paradise Lost. It is mostly made of heavy dark tracks, with the last two songs “Liar, Fool or Messiah” and “Red Sea” more progressive like “I Am,” “Laying the Demon to Rest”, “Serpent’s Kiss,” “Easter”, etc. It’s no surprise that those last two tracks are the best on the album. The most different song is the ballad, “The Greatest Hope.” It’s an acoustic ballad with sad lyrics of loved one’s passing and a very slight heavy crescendo at the end. It’s okay but more like “Ghost” that Matt posted a few years ago on youtube. Not sure it fits the album. The first two tracks are exhibit A for a heavier, modern sound to them. Lots of thrash riffs and some incredibly fast-paced drumming throughout. Some of the melodies are less immediate than usually Theocracy fare, but that might be a plus with the heavier direction.

Overall, I am happy to report the boys did it again. It’s definitely not on par with Mirror of Souls or As the World Bleeds, but comparable in quality to the other two. It’s a lot heavier and darker than Ghost Ship, which occasionally verged on the overlly poppy, sugary side of power metal. This is an interesting change to a thrashier and heavier side that should please fans and maybe win over some new ones that like only their heavier material.

It’s a great album. The riffs are a bit thrashier than normal—rejoice, Kerrick—but it still sounds like Theocracy. The hooks are not as immediate as some past albums, but they’re still great. I don’t think the singles are anywhere near the best songs on the album, although I like both of them a lot. My favorite songs are probably “Flicker,” “Sinsidious (The Dogs of War),” “Deified,” and “Liar, Fool, or Messiah.” But there’s not a bad song on it.

At this point I’d say it’s vying with MoS for my second favorite from them.

I still have to wait until tomorrow when it comes out on Spotify, but what y’all are saying has me excited. A lot of my favorite Theocracy tracks are the heavier ones, and it sounds like there’s a lot of those on Mosaic
