New Alice Cooper coming in August

Not only does he have a new album, the first single is out now!

I really like it! I'm not super familiar with his catalogue so I can't compare with his early stuff.

I like him on an album by album basis but I'll be checking this out.

This feels a lot like his 70's material--well, the rock side.  Coop was all over the place musically back then and some some tracks were rather hit or miss for me.

I prefer his 80s and early 90s sound, but at least he is still rockin'.

I like it. Haven't listened to Alice Cooper in quite a while. I remember after I found out he'd become a Christian, I got his three Christian-themed albums and basically burned myself out on listening to them. Then he came out with The Eyes of Alice Cooper, and I was unhappy that it wasn't Christian-themed. Those two things are why I shelved his stuff for a while. 

Also wasn't keen on him being a part of a production of Jesus Christ Superstar, since I don't think it's a good Gospel representation. But I'd like to think he had the best of intentions.

Seeing this has gotten me interested in listening to his music again.

All his albums since Dirty Diamonds have at least one Christian song on them:

Detroit Stories: Sister Anne (granted, that one's debatable, but I'll go with it)

On first listen, this is a great album.  It has that 70s Alice vibe while making every song a rocker.  The live band really brought the goods in the studio as well. 

I don't know if this will become a favorite or not, but it is definitely a solid listen and shows that Alice & Co. aren't satisfied to rest on their past successes and still are pushing to make the best music they absolutely can.  Alice is showing that, just because rockers may be getting old, that they don't have to quit making quality music if they truly have something more to say.
