Okay, I like that, they are really tapping into the early sound.

I’m pretty excited for the new album. Haven’t felt that way about a Metallica album in a very long time.

You know, there's a Kirk Hammett video showing his reaction to new Megadeth and he's like 'oh, this is soooo predictable - same ol' Megadeth..." When this sounds like they're the ones retreading on oh so familiar territory. That's fine by me, but don't mock other bands when they stick to a script.
Drop the wah-wah Kirk; Hendrix you ain't.

I would agree with you up until now, but I’m not so sure that’s going to be true in 2023. I was not impressed with Megadeth’s latest album. It’s all highly technical thrash with virtually no hooks. This new Metallica is thrashy but still accessible. I think I’m going to like this album a lot more than I liked the new Megadeth.

I enjoyed the latest Deth, but like everything since UA, it's fine when it's on but I don't really get the urge to go back to it.

I really like Super Collider. It's like it was cool to bash it but it's quality.

Hmm... so so... got a garage inc vibe with that Black album sounding bit in there. Kirk once again repeats long phrases from various songs, pretty much like the last song. I could name nearly every lead line from it's selected album. He does the trail down the neck lick, the justice for album bends and load and reload double stops etc... not bad. It's Metallica.

This title track sounds the best of the released songs thus far. I still think it’s uninspired and retreading the same ground as the last two. I think it’s time they get a new producer with a fresh set of ears! I miss the warm tones of their mid-80’s era. This new stuff is just plain loud from a cookie cutter machine.
With that said… I will still buy this because it’ll be in my face at Target or Walmart! And its leaps and bounds better than the Load, Reload and St. Anger monstrosities.

I was actually being nice. But it's crap really. Least Darkness had a son has great hooks in it, just needed to be structured better with the fat cut of it. This, this just rambles and the chorus is empty, the lyrics a child could write, and Kirk is redundant. You are right when you say they need fresh ears, this stuff is waaayyyy too bloated. I'd still pick it over Slip knot or Lamb of God though or that flat tire in the mud Meh-sugar. That ain't saying much though.TZ75 wrote:This title track sounds the best of the released songs thus far. I still think it’s uninspired and retreading the same ground as the last two. Morbid Angel comes to mind: "eyes to see, ears to hear". Or is that bible Not hardcore Metallica fans though.
