Dark beer or ???

Another poll. This time for those beer drinkers out there that are brave enough to comment. Others can anonymously just check their box of preference. Who prefers the darker of beers (porters, stouts, etc)? Or do you have to see through your suds to partake? import or domestic? I am not advocating anyone to get drunk or even buzzed, just let us know which you prefer to taste or has more visual appeal.

I couldn't stand beer even when I did drink alcohol.  I don't touch anything now and haven't since my 20s.

I voted both.    In moderation of course, I do love me some beer!  My favorites are Belgians and darks, though for whatever reason I find myself in the mood for IPAs more often.  I generally don't care much for wheat bears (yuck!) or very light beers like pilsners, pale ales, or the like.

I'm seasonal, Dark in the cooler months then IPAs and other lighter beers in the warmer months. I live in Yakima Washington which is hop capital so they overkill on the IPAs  although they are offering some lagers lately which beat the mass produced crap easily.

Personally I can no longer stand domestic no matter how German their origins are. My adolescent days are far over when I thought it was cool to sneak any beer. We would even drink skunk beer (Mickey's Big Mouth), LOL

As the years go by I find myself highly particular what I drink. It's about flavor/smoothness and to a lesser degree ABV. I don't drink on the regular, sometimes not for a year or more. But when I do, I gladly find myself paying top dollar for what tastes best to me: Trappist monk beer usually from European monasteries, quality porter or stout that is not bitter. Lastly, some really good IPA if none of my previous choices are available.

On a side note, I did have some excellent local IPA on Father's Day when I flew from Portland to SoCal. I don't remember the label. It was complimentary

I feel ya on the seasonal part.  Right about now I'm converting from darks back to IPAs haha.  If you ever make your way east towards the panhandle area of Idaho, let me know and we can grab some good brews together.  Just not while watching MMA.  

I've been to Jeremiah's Johnson and Daft Badger, both are really good.

My first job as as a grocery bagger, and one of the responsibilities was the recycle returns (10 cents in Michigan).  I learned to hate the smell of beer from that experience.  To this day I'd just as soon not smell it.

No option for the beer of the root?

No joke, this area is not easy when it comes to employment - unless you're looking for unskilled work.  All the fastfood joints are starved for workers.  Every one has "now hiring" on its windows with starting pay of like $20 an hour!

I love beer, especially the stronger ones, which is a bit difficult when you live in Germany because Germans like their beer plain. I rarely drink it though, it's only for special occasions.

I do need to order that John Calvin themed beer from Switzerland by the way...

We were in the Spokane area a couple weeks ago and stopped by a little brewery called For The Love Of God Brewing.  It appeared to be a Christian-ran business (and not just a sarcastic name) and was quite good!  Last night I cracked open a bottle I had bought to-go there and was especially impressed.  It was a barrel-aged sour - something I'm not typically into but this was amazing.  Definitely recommended!

True, but it's still the smell of beer.  I don't like it.

I drink occasionally, and when I do, I'm a dark ale guy, although I wouldn't turn down a good honey blonde ale from time to time.

Stouts, porters, and quads are what I usually imbibe, but I've found a local koelsch that I like, and I LOVE a good Kriek.

No beer here.
No alcohol at all.
When I used to drink, I never found anything I really liked.

I don't really care what color the beer is.  I've had great ales that were clear and a few darker beers that were just as good.  I just don't like bitter or overly hoppy beers.

I've never been into beer but sometimes I listen to Al Gattullo's Craft Beer Cast show on the radio.  
His show is so well done that even with zero interest in beer, I find it entertaining and informative.

I do have a glass of wine on occasion though....usually when someone else is paying for it

That Dragon's milk is a sipper but very good.
