My wife loves both.  I like the red but cannot stand the taste of black licorice.  I don't think anyone else in my family likes the black stuff either.

It's been a while, but licorice just comes off as flavored plastic. I DO love black jelly beans tho. Sometimes, I make a nice anise tea. Mmm.

I went to Target to get more Wiley Wallaby BLACK licorice but they only had the red plasticky stuff. I took a chance and was wildly rewarded with the watermelon flavor for a change  Red or black licorice?? UJmJB7A

If memory serves me correct, most licorice products do not contain real licorice, but some kind of flavoring. Too much of the real stuff can be bad for you.
