Songs you skip because of lyrics on albums you like?

I’m not talking about bands you avoid. I’m talking about one or two songs on an album that you always skip because of lyrics—not because of the music.

For example, I dig Peace Sells, but I always skip The Conjuring.

What about you all?

(Please don’t judge others for having different convictions than you. Read Romans 14 instead).

The Conjuring and Looking Down the Cross by 'deth.

Highway to Hell, Hell Aint A Bad Place to Be and a few others by AC DC.

Push Push and Hot and Bothered by Cinderella.
 
Many more by other bands because the lyrics are sexually infantile.

Yeah, I skip a lot of songs with sexual lyrics. For example, I LOVE VH’s 5150, but I skip Good Enough, because it’s puerile and juvenile.

Probably so many that I can't think of right now.  

One is Icon's first album.  I skip "Killer Machine" even though it is a great song musically.  
Just don't like those objectifying sexual lyrics.  For the same reasons I also avoid 

Van Halen "Hot For Teacher," "Women In Love,"
Motley Crue "Ten Seconds To Love," "Girls, Girls, Girls"
Aerosmith "Love In An Elevator," 
Ted Nugent "Cat Scratch Fever," "Wang Dang S.P."
Winger "Seventeen,"
Kiss "Christine Sixteen,"
Cerebus "All Night Long,"

And many others.  I can tell when a song is bothering me and I just hit skip.  Or it doesn't make it into a playlist.

Also some ZZ Top, LeMans, Great White, AC/DC, Guns 'N Roses, and other songs, some that I don't even want to mention the titles of here.

WASP has the most famous skip song.

VH with Sammy is weird, he wasn't bad solo but suddenly he joins VH and is Bon Scott.

True.  Good thing I've never really been into them musically.

I really like some of WASP and even before Blackie became a Christian he had some thought provoking lyrics.

Thrash is tough too.  I really like those first Slayer, Megadeth, Exodus and Testament albums but some of the darker lyrics (as well as the cover art) can cause me to hit the skip button.   And then we have Destruction, Sodom, Exumer, etc....oy.

And then you get Death Metal lol.

Lyrics have never really bothered me. Especially in bands that tend to sing fast (lookin' at you, Slayer) or have death/growling vocal styles where you can't understand a lot anyway. 

On a semi-related note, how many here fast-forward past profanity and/or nudity in a film? Not trying to call anyone out, but I've actually met people in the past who won't listen to certain bands because of content but will watch movies with content that is as bad or worse than the albums or songs they avoid. I've encountered the inverse of this phenomenon as well.

I pretty much never watch films or shows with explicit sexual content. It bothers me too much. Profanity doesn’t usually bother me.

I pretty much just keep to the early Zetro albums for Exodus due to the lyrics. Deth has a couple songs I skip. For Slayer, it’s pretty much just the South of Heaven through DiM for me. Testament is usually fine for me. Those early German bands have some “yikes!” lyrics.

Dont care much for sexual lyrics, but most are too cheesy to take seriously. I'm more offended by songs that seem to encourage cheating like Great White's Rock Me, W.A.S.P.'s Wild Child, Bryan Adams' Run To You, and Heart's All I Wanna Do (apparently the band members also hate that song, at least Ann Wilson does).

I hate that too. It’s common in classic country music, too.

I'll admit my standards aren't consistent, a lot has to do with how the song strikes me. Same with all art.

God Damn Evil - just doesn't sound right.

Had to get rid of my Minor Threat discography, such as it is, basically because every song is profane. Shame,  they were incredible.

Darling Nikki!! I was 10 and even then knew that was wsy too graphic.  Also...parents.

Sacred Steele basically went Satanic with Carnage Victory and as one of my favorite bands that sucked.

I'm sure there are many others but that is what sprung to mind.

Even Iron Blessings was getting there.
They should've stuck with cheesy metal rules style lyrics.

Just thought of another...I was always a big fan (musically) of the first Running Wild album.  
But that is when they were trying to fit into the scene and did the whole Satanic lyrics thing because I guess they thought it was cool.  It wasn't until a few years later that they more or less invented the whole "Pirate metal" genre.
Some songs are okay (war, politics) but others are just not appropriate to play any longer.

I skip a few of the early Overkill lyrics (Fatal If Swallowed, Head First, etc.)

Yeah, I'd say....!    Some of their songs are definitely not family friendly

If I avoid any music because of lyrics, it tends to be a whole album.  I was uncomfortable listening to Exodus' "Bonded By Blood", due to rather strong satanic content, along with (unsurprisingly) Mercyful Fate's "Melissa".  I've never tried any other albums by those bands as a result.
Any other albums with certain songs that I might find objectionable I just go along with.  I like to listen to a whole album, or not listen to it at all.
