True though, that song has a very groovy riff.

I listened to the first couple of songs from Lulu for the first time after hearing how bad it is, surely it can't be as bad as St Anger. I assure you St anger sounds like a masterpiece in comparison. I could not stomach having to sit through all of that.

The View. If you put those riffs on something with actual music instead of Lou's nonsense rambling, they would be pretty good. But it's mainly my "favorite" ironically, as it makes me laugh. James really seems to be taking himself so seriously as the table.Dustofyears wrote:^what is the song Steven?

It's been 15 months since my initial post.
Revised and decisions made:
...And Justice for All (Highest peak - Babe Ruth)
Ride the Lightning (Most consistently even -Ty Cobb)
Master of Puppets (A close third. Willie Mays)
Metallica (I know what and why they did it. Well, they nailed it! Like Bonds )
Death Magnetic (Not loved by critics. Booed by his own fans. Did it his way and was awesome -Ted Williams)

Re: Favorite And Least Favorite Metallica album?
The reason DM has crappy sound is because they turned up the volume in post which distorted the sound. It's actually good production. St. Anger is just crappy production. The reason they didn't fix the bass is because they feel like it's wrong to rewrite history, and they think it'll make the album sound completely different.Constantine wrote:As for least favorites, I have tried to listen to albums like St. Anger and Death Magnetic but I find the song-writing so boring. And the guitar sound is horrible.
Hardwired is pretty decent though. But why they refuse to fix the bass on "...And Justice For All" is a travesty and generally how they treated Jason Newstead really pisses me off.

Turning up the volume is crappy production, it over compresses the sound.

Re: Favorite And Least Favorite Metallica album?
Yes it does compress the sound. But that doesn't mean the production sucks, it's called POST-production, a.k.a, after the actually production. The production is thick and actually good, but turning up the volume in post distorts the sound making sound crappy.Black Rider wrote:Turning up the volume is crappy production, it over compresses the sound.

But anyways. My favorite album is ...And Justice For All, because... it's ...AJFA. And my least favorite is Lulu. It's hard to even call it an album.

It is now illegal you refer to DM's sound quality as anything other than "pants"Pethead wrote:Yep. I love the songs on DM, but the sound is absolute pants.
