I wish someone would properly remaster their whole catalog. That would also bring down the current market prices.

I like that album a lot but I'm not rich enough to be a collector.

About standard for colored vinyl. Everything is expensive.

Re: Galactic Cowboys - Machine Fish LP
t's going to be difficult to remaster / reissue the 1st two albums because they are on Geffen / Universal.
Albums like Machine Fish are easier because they are on Metal Blade.

Vinyl is absolutely ridiculous now. I couldn’t ever be a vinyl collector on my budget.

That’s true, unfortunately…
But it’s possible if someone negotiated with Geffen on their behalf. The problem is that they have always been overlooked by music fans. Kinda like King’s X but on a smaller scale. I think it’s just the avant-garde nature of bands like them… (Atomic Opera included).
Their most recent album was totally unsupported by the label that signed them. It’s another sad story for the books.
At this point, anything they do is purely for the love of music and for their loyal fans.

They need to do a GoFundMe. I think they have enough loyalty to pull it off.

Yes, they definitely have a big enough fan base to justify it. I just think (from my observations and listening to Monty’s podcast) that they are disappointed with the outcome of the last album. I’m sure they get emails all the time to encourage them to do more.
The good thing about the first two albums on Geffen is that they are the best produced and the least in need of remastering. Sam Taylor did a great job!
That said… a nice proper remaster could enhance them nicely. I would hire the guy that did the Queensryche reissues.

Anything's possible. Rick Rubin sat on Trouble's self-titled and Manic Frustration for years, even though fans were practically begging him to re-release them. He said something like "there's no money in it". Something must have changed because they've been reissued recently from what I remember.
