Favorite Queensrÿche album?

Let’s keep this train a-rollin’.
Up through Promised Land, these guys were basically unimpeachable.
But I’m gonna be weird (as usual) and pick Rage for Order as my favorite. Empire would be next.

RFO and Mindcrime for me but Rage has my favorite song by them in London. Have you heard their version of Scarborough Fair? As good as Disturbed's version of Sound of Silence imo.

Followed closely by The Warning
I actually liked everything through Hear In The Now Frontier (I thought it was decent for what it is - sort of like Megadeth's Risk), but everything after that bored me to tears.
I'm glad they started making good music again in 2013!

This is much harder for me than the other Favorite polls.
Have to go with Operation Mindcrime #1 with Rage For Order a close 2nd.
Other albums have some favorite songs though, like "En Force" from The Warning or "Thin Line" from Empire.

Operation Mindcrime by a mile. The guitar tone was perfect on that album. The vocals were outstanding. The songwriting pristine. They created a nearly flawless album. It’s my second favorite album of all time.

Operation Mindcrime followed by the self-titled debut EP.
House mate in college was a big fan of Queensryche. I think he liked Empire overall, but he was so disappointed in the direction change it represented. He asked me what I thought of it and was disappointed when I said it was good. He was hoping people would dislike it enough that it would force a course correction for the band. I never go back and listen to the albums after OM, though.

I've been a fan of this band since their EP, and enjoy something from nearly all their albums.
I'll list my favorite and add the ones that are very close to being my favorite.
1. Warning
2. Rage For Order
3. Operation Mindcrime
4. Empire
All four of those could compete for first place on any given day.

Really depends upon the day. Top 3 are Promised Land, Rage For Order, and Mindcrime...fairly interchangeable depending upon mood...with Empire 4th and the new album, Digital Noise Alliance jumping clear up to 5. That new record is a beast!!!

Rage For Order became my favorite after about 30 - 40 listens and topped Mindcrime, even though I heard Mindcrime first. Every song is unique and there's really not another album like it. Groundbreaking at the time, combining electronics and heavy guitar.
But the new stuff with Todd Latorre is solid and some of those songs like "Guardian" have become staples in my playlists.
