Solo artists you prefer to their bands?

Kind of an odd wording in the header, but what are some cases where you prefer the solo work of an artist over their work in a band? For example:

David Zaffrio>Bloodgood

Steve Taylor > Chagall Guevara / The...Foil.
Ken Tamplin's best solo > Shout/Magdallan > Ken Tamplin's ok solo.

Annie Lennox > Eurythmics
Dido > Faithless
Peter Gabriel > Genesis
Stevie Nicks > Fleetwood Mac
Michael Jackson > Jackson 5
Lionel Ritchie > Commodores
Billy Idol > Generation X
Chaka Khan > Rufus
Natalie Merchant > 10,000 Maniacs
Gary Numan > Tubeway Army

^When I saw this thread last night Lionel Ritchie was the first name that came to mind.....

I like Rob Rock’s solo albums more than his other bands.

I would reluctantly agree with Ozzy, I only really like about half of his output with Sabbath, but his first 5 or 6 solo albums are even better.  Same with Joan and the Runaways.
