Crimson Thorn - Plagued (Thrash) Demo

Would have been cool to see them stay thrash. Thoughts on this demo?

The only two albums I have heard from this band are unearthed and dissection.  I'll look it up and see if I can find it.

Yes I prefer their thrash sound to their later death metal.

I'll never be sorry that they moved to death metal, but when I heard the demo (which was way late, I never heard it until I picked up "Unearthed for Dissection" where it's included) I was very pleasantly surprised at how good it was.

I do love them all but always love thrash first

As I mentioned in the other thread, my opinion is that that would have been a total waste. I think Unearthed is the greatest Christian Death Metal album ever released and possibly my favorite DM album overall. I also think there is more quality Christian Thrash than Death and Crimson Thorn is a much needed pillar in the Christian DM scene.

oohhh, tempting.  I like the font better here too.  Just might have to grab that soon!

Plagued is great because they were a great band. I’m sure I would’ve loved further thrash stuff. But even though thrash is my first love, I’m glad they changed as Unearthed and Dissection are absolute prime death metal monsters. Contrast this to Living Sacrifice, whom I would love much more if they had stayed thrash.

I have not absorbed this band's discography much but I will say that Purification is EXCELLENT.

Old school DM can be just as great as thrash. I'd take old Morbid Angel, Suffocation, Cannibal Corpse, etc. any day over Havok, Evile, Warbringer, etc.
