I think Raw Is the Stonewood Temple is my favorite on ToM, but the only song I don’t like on it is the title track.

Love the title track, just that the lyrics could have been better.

Re: Rank the Mortification Albums
About this time, 1999, I sampled the first two albums on headphones at a local Christian bookstore, I hated them! Like initially with thrash metal, I did not get it, sounded like chaotic noise, I couldn't believe that anyone would like it! Well, like thrash, I got acclimated to it, an acquired taste. Began to hear the riffs and melodies, then saw how good they really were, but this took years! Don't think that I warmmed up to them till around 03. I even told Steve in 01 at a show in Cleveland that I didn't care for the early stuff, to insane!

That one reminds me a bit of "Chapel of Hope."

Re: Rank the Mortification Albums
Ok I've explored further and here's my list:
1. Relentless
This may be a hot take but it's some amazing thrash, just because it's not death Morty doesn't mean it can't be amazing.
2. Primitive Rhythm Machine
Some awesome groove influenced thrash.
3. Scrolls Of The Megilloth
The best death metal ever made.
4. Mortification
A lot of people say this is extreme thrash not death but I disagree, it was the first Christian death metal album I believe.
I'm working through listening to the rest and when I'm done I'll come back!

While Relentless isn't my favorite from them, Web of Fire is a top 10 Morty song. (Also it's funny hearing Steve do a Tom Araya "dyeath" lol)Christian Thrash Rules wrote:Ok I've explored further and here's my list:

Re: Rank the Mortification Albums
Live Planetarium does not deserve a spot because they're all tracks from other albums. You could just make a compilation of the best songs and that would be their "best" album techincally.
Re: Rank the Mortification Albums
I want to see Metallica do a comp of the best songs from Load and the best songs from ReLoad and I guarantee it would be much better.StevenCressler wrote:Live Planetarium does not deserve a spot because they're all tracks from other albums. Then you would have a comp of maybe...two songs. Throw in St. Anger, and you would have a comp of possibly two songs.Christian Thrash Rules wrote:I want to see Metallica do a comp of the best songs from Load and the best songs from ReLoad and I guarantee it would be much better.StevenCressler wrote:Live Planetarium does not deserve a spot because they're all tracks from other albums. King Nothing, Hero Of The Day, Until It Sleeps, The Outlaw Torn, Fuel, The Unforgiven II, Carpe Diem Baby, Fixxxer. Adding St. Anger wouldn't fit at all but here, Frantic, St. Anger, Some Kind Of Monster, Dirty Window, Invisible Kid, Purify(if chorus vocals aren't off-key)Ghosty wrote:Then you would have a comp of maybe...two songs.
