Re: Did anyone ever listen to Prophet?
Very underrated band. Kenny Dubman and Dave DiPietro were legendary guitarists in the NY/NJ area.
DiPietro was also in T.T. Quick and Nuclear Assault. Russell Arcara was a well-regarded singer too.
I liked the "Recycled" album the best because it has the hardest edge of all their material, but "Cycle Of The Moon" is great too.

I figured Constantine would know them. One of those groups that didn't get the proper push.

Re: Did anyone ever listen to Prophet?
They had a minor hit from their first album "Cycle Of The Moon," but never quite broke out of the pack at the time.Black Rider wrote:One of those groups that didn't get the proper push.
Another fun fact: Dave DiPietro was a guitar teacher and mentor to Zakk Wylde (Ozzy Osbourne,. Black Label Society) and Dave Sabo (Skid Row).

That's cool, a case of the student went on to be better then the teacher in Zakk's case.

DiPietro, along with Jimi Bell, is probably the most underrated guitarist of the 80s & 90s.

I don't know Jimi Bell but definitely Dave DiPietro would be in my top 10 underrated guitarists, maybe even top 5. But my #1 underrated guitarist of that era is Marc Diglio (XYZ). He was just phenomenal.

Jimi Bell is mostly known for currently being in House of Lords but has played with David Wayne, Geezer Butler and Mike Vescara from Obsession.

Re: Did anyone ever listen to Prophet?
I'm listening to "Recycled" again, and it sounds as good as ever. Amazon just gave Prime members more access to albums like this, so I'm taking advantage. (We can only do shuffle play though, phooey).
This album was remastered in 2011 by "Z Records."
*Did anyone here ever buy a copy of the remastered CD? Is it much better than the original version on Halcyon Records?
Both versions are OOP now and fetch anywhere from $28-$50.
