Well, I suppose that's like finding a loony priest and calling that a good representation of Catholicism.

She is definitely part of some sort of charismatic church. She reminds me of some of the preaching I heard from some of the Assembly of God pastors when I went to one many years ago.

She's more than that, she's part of the word/faith prosperity gospel, the "got a need, plant a seed" drivel. Having said that, I agree that many times it's hard to distinguish the two from each other, lot of cross over there.

Exactly.
The meaning of the term "Evangelical" has certainly shifted in recent years. Our pastor mentioned at a Bible study the other day how fairly regularly he gets requests to change/update the church's facebook page to be categorized as evangelical. He always resists doing so because of the associations with that label nowadays.

Re: Trump's Spiritual Advisor
It reminds me of when fundamentalist used to mean bible believing but became a word to mean extremist.
I find it hard when I speak to non-Christian friends about matters of religion, but they think that we all have the same beliefs as someone like Paula White.

Sadly, the squeaky wheels get the grease. Or, in White's case, the media just covers the fringe so they can smear the rest of us with that.
Besides, I've been to a lot of church dinners over the years. I think most evangelicals are more like Paula Deen! LOL
Re: Trump's Spiritual Advisor
I know Trump does not consider himself a believer, but I really expected he would pick someone much better than Paula White. It's not Kenneth Copeland, Creflo Dollar, Joel Osteen, Benny Hinn, or Beth Moore, but I'm not sure she's any better (I'm not as familiar with her but know who she generally is).
"For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear."

Ive heard somewhere that he is, I think a friend of mine mentioned that, but given his actions I can't believe a word he says so Its between him (Trump) and God

Trump considers Ben Carson to be one that deeply inspires him over religious beliefs and convictions

That article does not quote Donald Trump, but James Dobson. Not calling Dobson a liar, but that is not a confession from his own lips. It also mentions that he said that he had never had to ask for forgiveness, which seems like something a "baby" Christian should know and understand.
Re: Trump's Spiritual Advisor
The New Testament teaches that only men can be pastors, bishops, church leaders
So, it's obvious this babe is not being led by the real Holy Spirit which of course why she should be ignored.
I for one certainty ain't going to be sowin no seeds with her
You know, catholicism was never taught by Jesus and His Apostles.
It is in fact extra biblical, and as such not accepted by the Lord.

There is no fruit worthy of repentance so he does not bear the fruit of being a Christian.
People that claim they never did anything to have to repent for and that use filthy language like he does in some of his speeches is not something those being led by the Lord do.
Romans 8 tells us that those who are led of the Lord are the sons of God so if he was a Christian he needs to repent and get right again and abide in Christ. Whilst we are still on earth, we have the opportunity to repent and get right with God if we have turned away which we've all done in times past AFTER having been born again. Thanks God for 1 John 4:9
Jesus said in John 15 that those IN HIM who bare no fruit, the Father takes away and in this same chapter he said those that do not abide IN HIM will be cut off and thrown in to the fiya.
Ain't gonna be nuthin nice as they say on the other side of the tracks.
On the other hand, we are not voting for Sunday School teachers so since he opposes abortion and is friendly towards Israel... I'll vote for 'ol bad mouth again.
Sure beats putting liberal globalists in office to accelerate the coming one world government anytime!

Re: Trump's Spiritual Advisor
Dichotomous thinking Christians believe they have everything all figured out (when they do not) and that they have everything properly classified and labeled, which is often not the case. They have the definitive Bible-based answer for every question, even when they have not understood the question.

Wow!
I was not aware that the Lord's Word was not where mankind should go for answers.
Any idea where we should go for answers??

Re: Trump's Spiritual Advisor
Of course we seek God's word for answers to our questions but that it not the point of the quote. You are either deliberately ignoring the definition or truly do not have the capacity to understand it.

The definition of what, exactly? Your post did not provide any information about defining anything.
You did however come off as saying those that get answers from the Bible still have no answers, as though God's Word is not where we should be going for answers - hence my return question concerning what you said in your post.
If God's Word is not good for answers.... well, that's satan's point of view cause he is a liar and seeks to twist God's Word in order to blind people from knowing what it really says.
The majority of those claiming to be Christians don't bother to study the Word of God. They just hang their hat one a handful of verses and have no idea what the rest of God's Word says.
That's a sad state of affairs for those doing this...

You must have not read his statement thoroughly. Please go back and reread it. Then take a moment or two before you answer. Then read it again. Pray and ask God for wisdom in this and in what he said. Then, take a break from the internet. Go outside, enjoy God's wonderful creation and such. Come back, and then ask if what you have to say is really going to be a blessing or if it is going to be casting holier than thou rocks at someone and ultimately cast yourself as someone that is vastly superior to everyone on this board. Then, and this may be the hardest part of all, keep the answer to yourself.
Re: Trump's Spiritual Advisor
Thank you deathisgain. I posted a response myself but deleted it after reading yours which was much more full of grace.
