WonRowe Vision
Is this just Steve's will to be weird, kinda the Devo of Christian metal?!

I think it was more of a band that he could take into schools and other places that Mort was too heavy for

I only heard one song on a comp and I didn't care for it. Are there good songs you would recommend to change my mind?

The first album was brilliant in my opinion.

I don't get Devo at all, more of an almost Motorhead sound. The production is awful though so it's hard to listen to.

Re: WonRowe Vision
I don't get the Motorhead comparison at all, the Devo tag was just for the overall weirdness, not the sound.
Anyway, you can check them all out here...

I think it's the vocals that remind me of Motorhead.

"I'm Gonna Be a Good Lookin Corpse" was on an old Roxx sampler. Based on "The Spirit of the Rock" the "...Corpse" song sounds like a goofy novelty song, not a real one.

Re: WonRowe Vision
I really like the first album. It would be great if it got reissued with the drums more noticeable in the mix. I believe that when he released the cassette version he did do this, but they are no longer available.
On the next couple of albums Steve attempted to sing in a regular voice and dropped the growl but in my opinion he was not able to pull it off and it kinda makes it hard to listen to them.

To me, it sounds like he had an idea of something that didn't quite translate well. The first album is the most listenable but still needs better production.

Yea, but Steve has done this from the beginning. He usually had a song on every Mort album that was kind of a goofy spoof, and more so in latter years. Think "E.D. E.D., evil death, evil death!" This project seems to be all of his goofiness rolled into one band!

Re: WonRowe Vision
But those songs are usually short novelties, not full-length songs. If they were longer they would be good musically too (what classic Mort fan doesn't like "Majestic Infiltration..."?).
I see what you're saying, I'll have to sample more WonRowe before I decide it's worth buying though.
