Revelation Project
I pulled this out today and remembered it being OK from many years ago ....
... but now I hear it and actually this stuff is great.
It's well-composed melodic metal that will remind one of bands like Dream Theater, Redemption, or Shadow Gallery.
The artwork/packaging is pretty cheap/cheesy but the music is very good.
Anyone else familiar with this group?

Re: Revelation Project
Yeah, this was one of the first melodic progressive metal bands which I heard. I agree with what you said about the artwork, but the music is fantastic. And I also like the lyrical content which deals with the Biblical End Times in the same way as the Left Behind- book series and movies.

Re: Revelation Project
I'm not sure, but if I remember correctly someone of the band posted here for a while, back then when this album was released.
The album is well done - I really like the instrumental "Glory" although I normally prefer guitar solos over keyboard solos...

It’s not these guys, correct?
Temple of Blood wrote:Correct, that's a doom band. This one is more prog.
Actually I think that's a different Revelation! TOB are you thinking of these guys?

The doom one is called "Revelation". The prog one that this thread about is called "Revelation Project".
Re: Revelation Project
Sorry for the confusion, I was referring to the two bands called Revelation - not the prog Revelation Project. I thought the one mentioned on Angelic Warlord was more heavy metal whereas there's another band called Revelation that played doom and I thought maybe you were confusing those two.

Re: Revelation Project
Been listening to Revelation Project today.
Really good stuff for fans of early Dream Theater.
I guess putting out a really good album, doing no shows, and then disappearing is not a good recipe for being well-known.

Yes this is a great CD. The song Promise strongly affects me every time I hear it. It's just an instrumental, but in comparison with any other song I've ever heard, rarely do I feel the strong presence of the Holy Spirit as much as I do when I listen to that one. The "singing" on it impacts me so strongly for some reason.
I was talking to the main songwriter awhile back, and he told me about another CD he did in 2013. Here is a link for anybody this interested.

Re: Revelation Project
Revelation Project is really good, and this is coming from someone who doesn't really get into progressive metal. It was just done well and I enjoyed it.
Pro-Zak, I have both the Revelation Project album being discussed and the Revelation - Spiritual Wind album that you posted. Good stuff!

Same here! I am coming back to it and appreciating it more than I did at the time.
