Man, Coverdale sounds as good as ever.  Since "Slide It In", he has managed to keep the Whitesnake sound and keep it sounding fresh with every album.  I will probably get this when it comes out.

Very classic sounding, Beach and Hoekstra sound great together.

Ha! I just came here to post about this too. You beat me to it!

Both of the songs they’ve released from the upcoming album sound awesome. I can’t wait for this one. I haven’t said that about a Whitesnake record in nearly 30 years.

Like the song but boy is it heavy on vocal enhancement.

Here's one of those deep cuts WS often has that I think are as good as anything they put out as singles.

Staybrite, this released yesterday (May 10).

Black Rider, there is a regular edition and an extended edition.  Get the extended version as this song is included.

Is it me or do the vocals sound weird? They seem to be really low in the mix. Other than the singles they released before this week, I’m not digging this one very much. The first song on the album is weak.

Personally I think it's because of all the "help" they add to the vocal mix so they keep it lower to make it less noticeable.

I am loving this album myself.

The vocals are pretty much where vocals are in modern music.  To me, most newer albums have the vocals lower than the bass/bass drum.  I hate it, but that is what we get in the loudness war.

I really miss the late 80's production and don't understand who wants it recorded the way it is now?

Agreed.  Longstanding WS fan here (my favorite era being the Marsden/Moody/Murray years).  I picked up F & B two days ago - it's really good though isn't sinking its fangs into me like Forevermore and Good to Be Bad had done.  As for the vocals being back in the mix, the album opener seems to incorporate this the most... The subsequent songs have a bit more vocal clarity.  I will say that WS has been on a roll from Good to Be Bad onward - The Purple Album was really good, too.  DC doesn't have the same set of pipes, but that's to be expected as years ensue... his voice still fits the music.  Now, about that phenomenal drummer, Tommy Aldridge...!

See, I personally have no use for The Purple Album. I dont think it was particularly well done and I dont think it was necessary. But Forevermore and Good To Be Bad are both excellent and, in my opinion, these last 3 albums (not counting Purple) are actually better that Slip Of The Tongue.

I thought The Purple Album was an interesting modern take on the classic songs.  Maybe some nostalgia swayed me a bit, too, via Coverdale looking back upon a season long gone (Come Taste the Band was actually my favorite Purple album w/ DC - I thought Tommy Bolin did a really good job stepping in).  As for Slip of the Tongue: I never could get into it for some reason.  It's my least favorite in the WS catalogue.

I absolutely love Slip Of The Tongue.  The only truly blah, blah, blah Whitesnake album is the Restless Heart record.  I know--it was meant to be a solo Coverdale album and the label made him put the Whitesnake name on it.  But, it has no punch.  It just drags on. Slip Of The Tongue was right up there with Slide It In and their most popular self-titled record of 1987.  Those three were the golden years for me.

See, I even find Slide It In to be a meh record. S/T is amazing, Forevermore and Good To Be Bad are excellent, Flesh & Blood and Love Hunter are really good, Slide It In and Slip Of The Tongue are so-so, and then the rest do basically nothing for me.

But man, when GtbB and Forevermore came out, I was like, "where has THIS version of the band been hiding out...and why did it take so long to make these records???"
