Soldier: Babylon and Beyond
I am really surprised that a search here in the forum pulled up zero results for this release.
I just picked up the 2 disc set this month and was blown away by how much better it sounds than "The Definitive Collection 1985-1989" cd I have by them.
Sadly, I missed out on the early run that came with the dvd..but still, I highly recommend picking it up.

The production was too rough for me to enjoy. I think some of the songs ended up on the Regime re-release.

I bought it, and am happy with it. But with most of these older (basically demo) reissues I wasn't expecting a super great production.

Exactly.....you have to go into it knowing the limitations based on the source material.

Got it...Love it! Sold my copy of "The definitive collection". Babylon & Beyond is much better and has more material. It truly is an anthology.

That's not a bad idea...I should do that too.
If you don't mind me asking, did you do pretty well with it? $$$ wise
I see it going for $50+ bucks on Amazon

Re: Soldier: Babylon and Beyond
I ordered and received the CD/vinyl/DVD combo. I heard tacks 2 tracks on a California Metal compilation - Tears and Borderline back around 1990 so that was my first introduction to the band and I liked those songs. I heard some of the other songs on youtube and the remastering was better on the CD and vinyl. I knew most of the material was more of a demo/raw sound. The CD had a thick booklet that explained a lot of the history of the band. When I get some time I will go through the vinyl, CD and DVD.
