Detritus Reunion?

 Detritus may be coming back to the scene. The pirate-ish thrash metal band Detritus began in 1989, recorded two studio albums - Perpetual Defiance and If But for One - and a split EP, White Metal Warriors - Last Ship Home, which also featured Seventh Angel, Stairway, Lazarus, and Maverick. In October 1993, the band broke up and they went their separate ways. Vocalist/Bassist Mark Broomhead formed Fire Fly and joined Seventh Angel as a Bassist. Guitarist Earl Morris also joined Seventh Angel for a brief time.
 
However, as of December 1, 2018, the band may be reuniting. The band teased a reunion stating the following:

So first Detritus practice for 26 years, went quite well. Maybe we might do it again sometime.

Wow! That sounds like a nice surprise! I gave Perpetual Defiance a spin a couple of days ago. Since both their albums were quite different I would be really curious how a new album would sound like.

I would love this but I'll believe it when I see it.

Someone I used to know who knew Mark Broomhead said he was related to the guy from Rorkes Drift in the film Zulu (Michael Caines character)

Not sure how true that is, but it's interesting nonetheless!

I love “If But For One”. “Perpetual Defiance” is okay but doesn’t hold my interest. I thought they really found their niche with IBFO. Heavy guitars, melodic as any thrash you’re ever going to find, and hooks galore. It was aggressive but accessible. The lyrics, too, were really good. Masquerade and Father To Son, especially, were just great songs lyrically (and musically). If they come back I hope they stay closer to the IBFO sound.

Bring back the thrash! Love there first album still have it on cassette

Both are top shelf albums! 

This would be awesome if they release new material!

Is every band reuniting this year???  I wonder if their two albums will get re-released?

I know but I could hope right I remember in an interview Kurt said he could write Sanity Obscured part 2 in 30 minutes. Man I wish they would.

I would love to hear a new Detritus disc.  I would also like to see their first two albums be reissued with bonus tracks.
