Let's keep this going. It should be noted that I dont own every Sababth album, so I'm just going with what I have:

Black Sabbath is one of four bands who hold the title of my all time favorite band. lol I absolutely LOVE the first 8 records, Mob Rules and Heaven And Hell are awesome... then there's a whole bunch of records that really don't do much for me but contain enough cool songs to make 2 cd's worth of music sooo...   13 is really awesome too, I definitely dig on that one!

Anyway, sticking with just Ozzy stuff, favorite album: Sabbath Bloody Sabbath or Vol. 4 or Master Of Reality, honestly I love all 9 but these 3.

Honorable mention for Paranoid, Planet Caravan, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Orchid, Hole In The Sky, Back Street Kids, Rock 'n' Roll Doctor, Never Say Die, Johnny Blade, Shock Wave and a bunch of others. (Sorry, I love Sabbath!)

Favorite cover: Sabbath Bloody Sabbath though Sabotage is cool as well.

I leave out Heaven And Hell and Mob Rules only because I consider them part of the amazingness that was Ronnie James Dio. Both of those contain awesome songs!

Black Sabbath is evil and purely satanic. You need to repent of listening to demonic songs like After Forever.
Okay, joking aside.....
Top five in no particular order:
-A National Acrobat (the lyrics give me chills)
-War Pigs (my introduction to the band)
-Fairies Wear Boots (the last stanza cracks me up)
-Lord of This World (like with National Acrobat, I adore the lyrics so much)
-Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (great lyrics and some great riffing)
To be honest, I can't think of a track I don't love from their first three albums. Except Paranoid. That song is pretty overrated, IMO. Don't get me wrong, it's a solid track, but I don't get why it's so popular.

There's this thing here in Finland where people in the audience shout "Soittakaa Paranoid" (which means "Play Paranoid") to the band at any gig. And I mean it can happen at literally any gig! I totally agree with you, pretty overrated track.

Overrated or overplayed? I think it's been overplayed is all.

Well, I think it's overrated, I've never really liked it. But hey, that's me

I think part of my frustration with the song is that it overshadows so many great, lesser-known tracks.

A National Acrobat has probably the best lyrics of any Sabbath song.
Hand of Doom doesn't seem to get enough love at all.
