Anyone familiar with LEGION? Old school Christian USPM

Both their albums were reissued by Arkeyn Steel Records.

Some good playing, songs, and super-high melodic singing.  Enjoyable stuff.

They are decent listens but not the greatest either.  I bought both of the reissues out of curiosity.  They are sometimes weak on the lead guitar and somewhat bass heavy with the new remastering.

Which album did you prefer?

I have only made it through "Darkness" but some of those songs were really great.

I'm so glad their music isn't as generic as most metal is with the riffs and melodies.

Sounds really good! I'm not too sure about the vocalist though, but he's not off-putting.

I just checked these guys out - pretty good stuff, up my alley.

Is / was this a Christian band though?  I can't really tell.

I'm listening now and they sound pretty rad!  As with Constantine, I'm curious about the "Christian band" thing.  TOB, what makes you say they're Christian?

TOB:   Is it possible that the main songwriter (Doug Calloway() had a Christian upbringing and then left it?  Because on the 1st album there are earlier songs like Evil Mind and Wake The Dead that use the "F" word.  Then Watching The Sky which lambasts the church and is also an earlier song.  Then there is Everyone Wants To Be and Sunday Shoes, which also angrily lambast the church but come after the one you posted.  Then there's Judgment Day which also pushes for smoking weed...etc.   

I don't know, he seems all over the place.  I would call this a secular band with a few Christian songs.   Like Hades, Binary Creed, and so many others.
