What genre/style would you classify Attalus as?

Last year, I bought "Into the Sea" by Attalus and really enjoy it a lot. It's a mix of alt, rock, prog, and metal.

I'm looking for a name or classification for their music.

Below is the title track which contains a fantastic blend of all genres and a very nice build as the song goes on. It really picks up around 3:20

I enjoy this release as well - good stuff here.  Could a good bit of this be considered post hardcore?

Thanks guys. The consensus seems to be post-hardcore. But what does that even mean? "Post", in my mind, means "after". Hardcore is still an active style of rock, so how can something be post-hardcore?

I wouldn't call that post hardcore. Here is a good example of post hardcore....

Anytime " post " is used in regards to music, it usually is stating the specific type of base music is having something " new " added to the base sound. A new mixture but still grounded on the root genre.


...maybe that band might have some post hardcore influences but with some emo and alternative influences as well ? Sometimes if you just like something you can just call it good rock music.
