Skillet vs Three Days Grace

Ever notice just how similar these two songs sound?





I do like both songs, and TDG have toured with Skillet so there's no problem between the two bands, but i recently listened to these songs back to back and it's practically the same song with altered lyrics. Even the lyrical themes are similar (though skillet's is obviously from a Christian perspective).

I hear a lot of difference actually.  The only thing that is really that similar is the guitar tones.  The riff is different.  Even if they were playing the exact same notes, there are differences in the way they are picking it.  The vocal melody is also different.

It's modern rock, a lot of it sounds the same. That's not a knock either, a lot of the same genres have similar sounds.

I agree and will add this:  if you are not a big fan of any particular genre, then most of it sounds the same whether it be big band, black metal, blues, country, 80s metal, modern rock, pop, etc.
