How was it? It looks pretty good...
And Vacation is a classic!
Hush is surprisingly good.
Vacation wasn't the original, it was the one from last year. I still laughed a lot.

I tried watching the new Vacation a while back. Got maybe a quarter of the way through, and quit. Just wasn't digging it.
Re: Recently Watched Movies
Has anyone seen X-Men: Apocalypse yet? I've heard conflicting reviews on the quality of it.

Right on; I'll have to add Hush to my list! Have you seen the trailer for Don't Breathe? Similar themes though with a different twist... It's supposed to be very good.
I heard the new Vacation was not very good. I'll probably keep skipping that one though it's good to know it's not ALL bad...

Re: Recently Watched Movies
I started watching "The Do Over" on Netflix. It's an Adam Sandler movie (don't judge!). His movies can be hit or miss, mostly falling on the miss side lately. But I made it about half way through before I tired of it's juvenile vulgarity. I think he is trying to be "edgy" in this one. Just doesn't work for me.

The NOVEL that Roots is based upon is basically a combination of plagiarism and fiction. It was, at first, touted as a true story and actual genealogy, but then a plagiarism case came down and they had to reduce the book's style as a novel.

This has largely gone over the general public's head.

Interesting. I didn't know if it was or wasn't a true story. Now I know.

Re: Recently Watched Movies
A couple nights ago Veronika and I watched the classic Bonnie And Clyde with a couple friends. I was surprised that none of them had ever seen it before! It had probably been 15 years since I watched it last so it was fun to see again for myself too. It really is a very well done flick!

The 1967 version of that movie is one I will watch every time I find it on. Excellent movie.
I just watched The King and I (Yul Brenner version) and also rewatched Now You See Me.

I finally saw Mad Max: Fury Road. What a waste of time. It's hard to believe this movie won five Oscars.

Re: Recently Watched Movies
The boy and the beast - watch this and thank me later. This is one of the best anime films I have seen in a long time. But the story quality is far beyond anything else I've seen for a while. It was funny, heartfelt and just a great family film overall. Go to Amazon, YouTube, whatever, rent this or buy it, just watch it. An hour went by and I still couldn't believe there was another hour. It was extremely enjoyable.

Watched "Airplane!" with my wife and daughter. Haven't seen this one in decades. Loved it. I had to keep stopping it tho to explain a lot of the dated cultural references to my daughter.

Re-watched The Incredible Hulk. First time for my son. Was better than I remember, but I look the current version better.
Re: Recently Watched Movies
Just finished watching "Approaching the Unknown" with Mark Strong. It was interesting.
Re: Recently Watched Movies
Watched "The Bridge on the River Kwai" for the first time yesterday. Really good movie. The finally had me standing getting all antsy, even tho I knew the final result.
Also watched "National Treasure" with the boy again. Always liked that one.

Re: Recently Watched Movies
Our local theater does $5 movies all day on Tuesday. I am seriously thinking of seeing Independence Day 2 and Tarzan today.
Re: Recently Watched Movies
I saw Independence Day Resurgence the night of my wife's birthday. It was good.
My biggest gripe with these types of movies is some of the impossible odds overcome are ridiculous.
