It's hot. Tepache time!

We're having a nice heat wave here in the Bay Area CA. Temps are hitting just over 100 this week. So, I decided to take advantage of my crazy hot garage to make Tepache.
Here's a video so you can get the idea.
I'm using brown sugar instead of piloncillo. All I have is ground cinnamon. Also,I don't have a nice ceramic jar, so I'm using the crock pot and a steel pot. I'm making 4 quarts, 2 in each. I plan to add half a bottle of beer to each in 2 days. I'll let you all know how it went next week.

Well. I let it sit too long. I have a very aromatic batch of pineapple vinegar....

I was able to rescue that batch. I added some sugar and it became drinkable. It did have a light vinegar bite but was good otherwise.Kerrick wrote:Oh no!
