It's been a while that Petra.....
Released an album with all new original material. It's been 12 years since the 2003 release of Jekyll and Hyde. I would love to see a new release of full throttle rock/hard rock from these guys. It would be cool if they did a 14 or 16 track album, or a double album with Greg Volz singing on half the songs and John Schlitt singing the other half with Bob on guitars, Louie on drums and John Lawry on keys - which to me is the core if Petra. On bass Mark Kelly or Ronnie Cates could play. The style could be thr early 80's Petra for Greg's songs with that Styx, Foreigner, Reo Speedwagon vibe. for John's songs it could have that late 80's/early 90's Petra vibe with the Journey, Bon Jovi vibe.
Any thoughts?

I can do without another Petra album. The Classic Petra release was enough for me to see that I don't need to hear Volz anymore.
Schlitt's done too.
Love their old stuff though

I would love to hear how a new album with schillit would sound.
How long since the band has announced that their retirement was over?
They said the meant business, so I was expecting a new album. Will it ever see the light of day?

I remember them ending retirement too.
It depends. If we get another album of worship songs I'll pass. Remember that new song they put on a greatest hits album? If Schlitt/Hartman come back with a rock album I'm in.

Yeah, there are plenty of worship music out there. We need more hard rock and heavy metal albums.
In a year without releases I wouldn't complain if they release an album and it doesn't matter who is the singer or who is involved im it.
