CD's - totally overrated... Old ones are starting to rot and yet old vinyl, if taken care of plays excellent. I have some vinyl from the 50's and 60's and it sounds great. While some may click and pop, at least they play. When CD's start to rot they won't play at all.

Disc Rot:

Vinyl Laserrot

Here's one rotted so bad you can see all the way thru it

I have that Dangerous Age disc from 1988 and so far it looks OK. Luckily I also have Dangerous Age on vinyl and it is still in mint condition.

Now 8 track tapes? Totally overrated.

That's why God created MP3 players.  There are turntables that can convert vinyl into MP3s.

Good points, Mike.  I've experienced a little CD/CDR rot myself.  A Jerusalem disc and a Choir disc in my collection have become useless over time.

Cheaper made CD's???? That Bad Co was made by Atlantic Records. I doubt they made "cheap CD's". I do have an iPod I use and my phone. My phone has exclusively VINYL rips on it and there are several on my iPod. Just got Rush Hemispheres over the weekend on 200 gram vinyl and it sounds awesome. And yes, if I wanted to I could hook up our turntable in the minivan. No modifications what-so-ever. Plug and play!

And, just to annoy you, here's one in someone's car cranking some AC/DC!  Twisted Evil
