Other Really Really Good News!

If you haven't kept up with Metal Church as of late, Ronny Munroe left the band to pursue other interests. Metal Church was left without a lead singer for a 3rd time which resulted in awesomeness. Metal Church recruited the closest person they had to the original David Wayne (R.I.P.), Mike Howe! They released a re-recorded version of Badlands from Blessing In Disguise. New album doesn't have a release date yet but check this out!

It sounds good. They kinda make it sound like they've re-recorded the song with a new singer when, in actuality, what has happened is a new band recorded it. Mike is the only member from the MC lineup that did the song. Still cool though.

i"m pretty stoked for this as Mike is one of my favorite metal singers. The biggest thing I notice different in that song is the drums but the vocals sound good.

As long as you have Kurdt and Mike in the band, you still have a credible Metal Church line up.

That's true. Vanderhoof was still composing music with Metal Church at that time though, he just wasn't recording with them. So your statement is half right?metaldude wrote:It sounds good. Surprised how close the production is to the original. The vocals are spot on almost dead-ringer.

David Wayne is awesome. I ended buying his solo album which also rocks. Reminds me a lot of the first Metal Church album. If he were still alive, I wonder if he would have come back after leaving in '01. Wayne and Howe are both great and were both the best from Metal Church.
