I can't think of any bands in particular though one song by the band Loudflower sounds similar called - I guess i need you.

It was on a HM sampler years ago...

I quite liked this actually.....sort of like a cross between POD and the Police....I was actually gonna say that it sounded a bit like POD, then Sonny turns up in the clip...

None like The Doors either...

Though you might want to check this out, recently picked it up and there is a track on there that has a strong Police vibe to it...

I've read some strange new info on Stew being a covert intelligence operative - his brothers even more so as his family was involved in military intelligence extensively.

Try Things Break by Canada's own Elim Hall...I saw them in 1986 and, although I never picked up the album, they definitely brought The Police to mind.

That is a very close match. The drumming is definitely not Stewart Copeland (I'm a huge fan of his style), but I like the rest of the music.

No one sounds like the Police! Wink Christian or otherwise. They were brilliant and way ahead of their time. I'm not sure popular music has caught up with them yet!

I have the elim Hall album and it is fantastic. Probably the closest to the Police as any one else. I saw them open for Michael W. Smith back in the day; both were on Reunion Records at the time.
