That's cool but what I'm really excited about is the Worldview release.

My money is on the next SW lp being released before that...

That's too bad because I thought those two songs sounded very promising.
Oh well. Hopefully Sacred Warrior doesn't disappoint.

Touche.
Nothing is for certain with the more underground bands but at this point I'm going to be optimistic and assume its just a big delay. There's enough in secular metal to keep me interested but its always nice to see Christians release a great album.

Re: Sacred Warrior Update
So some other band misrepresented their schedule and that's a touche?
I can show you a far greater number of bands that said they were almost done and they were telling the truth..
( we won't bring up Guardian )

Re: Sacred Warrior Update
Am really looking foward to SW follow up to Waiting in Darkness! Bruce is one of my favourite guitarists and songwriters who i think is one of the most underrated musicians in the christian metal scene.
Regarding to Worldview they did actually comment on their Facebook page recently that the album will be released in April.....This year....

I just meant a lot of the underground part time bands don't have the same time and resources as the more mainstream bands so its probably not that easy to predict release dates.

Re: Sacred Warrior Update
Well, a few days ago, I was going to open a thread about Sacred Warrior. I have been checking their facebook status constantly and I have noticed that they are tracking a new album and no one here seemed to care about the band, even though Waiting in Darkness is awesome. It is the kind of release you expect from a mature heavy metal band.
What really happened is that people stop talking about this album as Deliverance, Stryper and Bloodgood have released their albums almost at the same time just after a few months Waiting in Darkness was released. It was a busy year for christian metal. And this fact turned Waiting in Darkness into a underrated release, even though it is heavier than Bloodgood and Stryper last efforts.
Anyway, I have been looking forward to the new album.

I've said this before, but some things are worth repeating, I've never equated heavier w/better. "Waiting in Darkness" was a fine lp, and I don't think the time of it's release had anything to do w/it's lack of popularity, perhaps the loss of the original singer did...

Starfire..... You may be taking my comment more serious than was intended. It was tongue-in-cheek.
Candlemass....While I own all of The Sacrificed's releases, and while there are some moments he shines on the SW CD, I just don't think SW is SW without Rey Parra and I don't think Eli is even in the same class as Rey. Honestly, I have to be in the right mood to listen to Eli singing...which has been less and less often over the last year

Re: Sacred Warrior Update
You are right. Heaviness is not better at all. From the albums I quoted, by the way, Bloodgood and Deliverance are the albums that I have mostly listened to, since it was released.Candlemass wrote:I've said this before, but some things are worth repeating, I've never equated heavier w/better. But I guess I didn't give the deserved attention to Waiting in Darkness. This album is not only heavy, this album smokes from the start to the end! The only warm moment is when the ballad Jealous Love take place.
Do I miss Rey Parra on vocals?Yes. As well as I miss Josh Kramer on Saint, but Brian Miller has done an awesome job in the last Saint CD. Same thing about Eli Prinsen on SW.
And again, you said that heaviness doesn't means better, but it is something. Also, this album brings great riffs, two awesome redone songs and great lyrics.

Re: Sacred Warrior Update
I like Eli. There, I said it.
I like that SW decided to remain active.
I can't think of anyone who could fill Ray's (XL) shoes better.
Yet, I prefer classic SW. Eli era SW is still growing on me. The music is still stunning.

This.
To me Waiting In Darkness is decent, but I don't find myself going back to it for repeated listens. The music is good, but to me the vocals don't shine with Eli at the helm.

Not a fan of Brian Miller either...in fact, I refuse to buy the new cd because of him.

Yeah, I don't find myself going back to it very often, either. And the music is very good, it's just the vocals. I am the same way with The Sacrificed stuff. I listened to it all once and that was pretty much it.

Re: Sacred Warrior Update
I love the new Sacred Warrior, just think the last Stryper lp was better. Liked the last Bloodgood as well, haven't bought the last "D" or even listened to much of it, not really interested. "D" has nothing stellar since their first demise...

Re: Sacred Warrior Update
I agree. I like the new Sacred warrior better then the old [never could get into old Sacred warrior]. And I'm very interested in a new release. Should be killer.Candlemass wrote:I love the new Sacred Warrior, just think the last Stryper lp was better.
