I’m curious, what bothers you more… sexual innuendo or satanic lyrics?

Both, for different reasons.TZ75 wrote:Pethead wrote:Yep, 1987 has its share of innuendos, but it’s one of the only ones that’s mild enough for me to stomach.

Blasphemous or satanic lyrics bother me because they’re attacking my God.
Sexual lyrics bother me because they put thoughts in my head that could tempt me to lust if I’m not careful.
The sexual lyrics could probably be a bigger stumbling block for me, honestly. It’s one reason I am very careful about the sexual content in the movies and shows I watch.

The actual song Forevermore is brilliant! It’s very reminiscent of the Coverdale/Page music. The second half of the song has an epic Kashmir feel.

I understand your concern… but for me, the words have become just a part of the song and I don’t dwell on them. I’m too into the music most of the time to analyze the words (unless something blatantly in your face is said). If a song just says a woman is “hot” or whatever, that’s no problem. But X-rated lyrics are annoying. Same with bands that say “Hail Satan” etc…
I only care about the words if it’s a Christian band. Secular lyrics are mostly nonsense anyway.

Yeah, some lyrics are borderline X-rated.

Good To Be Bad and Forevermore are really good, Aldrich and Beach are great together.TZ75 wrote:I think the Forevermore album is really good. It’s the best they’ve done since the Steve Vai era.

I can’t make that promise.
I have OCD and I like to add stuff I didn’t think of the first time… and also I correct mistakes (misspelled words).

Re: Fav Whitesnake album?
Makes sense. Tbh I think the reason that the sexual lyrics don't bother me much is because I know if I'm sure to get thoughts like that within an hour or so anyway... something I need prayer for I guessPethead wrote:Both, for different reasons.TZ75 wrote:Pethead wrote:Yep, 1987 has its share of innuendos, but it’s one of the only ones that’s mild enough for me to stomach.

Blasphemous/Satanic lyrics are a bigger problem for me. Otherwise, The Conjuring would be one of my fav Megadeth songs, and I'd frequently shuffle play Slayer. There's no temptation there, but it just feels wrong to listen to and enjoy something actively being hateful towards God.

Is that song about what I think it is...Black Rider wrote:It had Jon Sykes, there's a reason it was so good. I also really like Slide It In but man, the lyrics are so bad.
