30 years ago today Whitesnake released "Whitesnake."
This album was hugely successful! Over 8 million in the US.
I saw them on this tour, they opened up for Motley Crue.

John Sykes killed it on this album. Whitesnake was never the same after he left.

Hardcore, if you want to hear the proper follow-up to this album, go listen to the Blue Murder s/t.

I need to give that album a listen. All I've heard from it were the singles Jelly Roll and Valley of the Kings, neither of which did much for me.

Good album but I prefer Saints and Sinners.

Agreed.  My intro to the band was the album before this "Slide it In".  I also saw the them live (opening for Kiss or Dio, I can't remember which back in 1984 or 85) and the performance really good, Sykes was fantastic live.

Great, great album. The last two studio efforts, "Good To Be Bad", and "Forevermore", were actually very good, also, as was the Deep Purple covers album. "The Purple Album", although the recording on that one was a bit uneven.

I don't have "Good to Be Bad" but just this last year I picked up both "The Purple Album" and "Forevermore" and enjoy them both quite a bit.
