Vengeance Rising Once Dead and Human Sacrifice Vocals, Good Or Bad?

What does everyone think? Are Roger's vocals on the first two VR albums good or bad? I love them, very unique. Made the band stand out.

Since there’s no option for “horrible,” I’m going with bad. And I like those albums. I just had to learn to get past the “vokills.”

Bad, but they do make the albums way more insane sounding, so I'll give credit where credit is due.

Spend some time with good extreme metal vocalists and you'll realize how bad they really are.

I'm kind of torn, actually.

When Roger's vocals lean toward death metal, he's really good and sometimes pretty menacing.

When he spazzes out with the higher register, "barfy" vocals, he sounds like a troon karen going off on someone who used the wrong pronouns.

So I voted "meh".

Beauty is objective. There's nothing beautiful about these type of vocals, but they do fit the music.

I do. Mort, Extol, Demon Hunter, For Today etc. The great part about Roger is no one else sounds like him. Most extreme metal growlers sound very similar but Roger sounds like no one else. I know that doesn't make him good, being good makes him good

They're not great, but the fantastic instrumental work makes me forgive it.

Back to this thread, I don’t like Roger’s vocals…I voted BAD. I still love their albums for the music. I tolerate the Cookie Monster.

Thanks Pethead.  I will admit, that wasn't nearly as atrocious as I was expecting.  They're quite unhinged but add to the overall aggressive feel of the music.  That being said, I turned the song off after a couple minutes and couldn't imagine enjoying a full song of that, let alone an entire album.  But it's not just the vocals for me - that style of thrash is just not my cup 'o tea.
