When yout music gets hijacked...

Have you ever ordered music close to an event like your birthday or Christmas and your spouse intercepts it and hides it until that occassion arrives? I happened to me today. The new Whitecross CD arrived and my wife has it hidden until my birthday.

Haha that happened to me once when I was still living with my parents.  I ordered an Asunder (funeral doom, secular) CD and was surprised that it was taking so long to arrive.  Then Christmas morning it was wrapped, under the tree for me haha.

It just makes sense that funeral doooooooom would get to you more slowly than expected.

It's true...  That's why I didn't think much of it.

Fortunately, I’m always home when the mail arrives. This way my wife doesn’t always see my cd and vinyl purchases sitting on the front porch when she gets home from work.

I would be ticked if I bought something and my wife hid it to give to me as a gift.  If I bought it, then I would feel devalued because she couldn't even bother to find a gift for me or take the time to purchase something for me. I would rather not have a gift at all.

This has never happened to me.

So you buy yourself an album, your wife swipes it, wraps it and then makes you wait for a birthday or holiday to give it to you? And she didn’t pay for it?

Well I can't say for the others, but when it happened to me it was an honest mistake.  My parents had ordered a couple different CDs for me that Christmas and when this one arrived, they just assumed it was one they ordered.

What Kerrick’s not telling you is that he has not spoken to his parents since the “incident.”

They need to learn their lesson.  It's been probably 15 years but I'm still holding out that my cold silence will win them back eventually.

To answer yiue questions:

Technically, we both paid for it. Our checks go in the same checking account. However, I have been selling some CDs and LPs in my collection and I'm using the proceeds to buy more music. So it's a grey area at who paid for it.

I ordered the Whitecross from Amazon. It's called Fear No Evil.
