No offense to Erik Mendez, but the new lead player is amazing! Super clean and fast shredding!
I can tell the drums are triggered the same as the last album… but I’m used to it now.
“In an Ancient Time” is epic! It really paints a vivid musical picture. Two thumbs up. Way up!

I haven’t listened yet, but I was afraid of that. I hated the drum sound on Polarized and it compromised the quality of the album in my view. Even on the weakest tracks, TQT always had an amazing drum sound and performance. And David is more than capable.MagnusPrime wrote:The music and melodies are great, but I still can't get over the programmed drums. Why even have David Husvik listed as a band member and not utilize his considerable talent?

I’m enjoying it so far, but it sounds so digital and sterile. The super triggered drums are distracting since sometimes the kick drum sounds normal but then when David kicks it into high gear it is very triggered.Constantine wrote:Good album, but the production sounds so digital and mechanized.

Guy and Gary sound awesome. The songs so far are pretty memorable.

I’m pretty tolerant of production issues, so it’s unusual for me to find it as distracting as I do.Black Rider wrote:I find the production distracting. Oh well, still has some good tunes and I’ll buy it to support them.

Top tracks at the moment, for me are... Ripped Into Exile, Dawin's Missing Chimp, Others and Zero Hour. But they're all great.
