Tourniquet's debut album has some of the best falsettos I've ever heard but many people hate them. Where you do stand on this debate?

I’ll get both sides mad at me, because I’m gonna say “eh.” I think Guy does them well and I love StB, but they can border on overbearing on some tracks. I prefer his style on POD.

my choice isn't on the list...

I've described before but when I first got it, when it came out, I
could not stand the falsetto...forward 34 years... absolutely love it.
Guy is at the top of my vocalist list and STB is top 5 all-time.

The only song where it gets a little overbearing is Ready Or Not. 

Other than that, I think they're fairly well executed.

Lots of speed metal bands were doing that whole "over the top" vocal thing around the same time. Riot immediately comes to mind, but I know there were others.

STB is the best Tourniquet record; I love Guy falsettos and never understood why he never sang in this way after this record.

I don't know what the big deal is.  Falsetto has been big in metal for over a decade before STB came out.  Halford, Tate, Diamond, and Midnight all set the stage for Ritter.

So you have to like all falsetto? Tate and Halford have better control doing falsetto imo, Ritter is straining at times. Diamond sucks.

Yes, that doesn't mean his are good though. I love Iron Maiden, Deliverance, Muse etc. But they're not really executed well on STB. I prefer the vocals on POD and PS. I don't HATE the vocals on STB but I lean more towards not liking them then eh... It doesn't mean I don't like the album though, musically it's awesome.
