Which one?
Load or ReLoad
Don't worry, I'm not making a whole bunch of Metallica polls... I just happened to think of this right after posting the Anger one.
I'm going with ReLoad, but they are very close. ReLoad has Unforgiven II on it, and that might be what made the difference. But it also has songs like Fuel and Fixxer, though Load does have Thorn Withing, AMB, and Until it Sleeps. Overall both are good but easily below-par for the band.

Load, but both albums are beyond bloated.

Neither. I don't spend much time with mediocre albums.

That doesn’t explain No More Tears.Black Rider wrote:Neither. I don't spend much time with mediocre albums.
Although, in fairness, I guess that one is just bad, rather than mediocre.

like Black Rider I don't listen to any of them. I only listen to what I love now time is too short to waste time on anything less. I owned the albums way back and like Load better. As everyone knows, if they combined songs from both albums there is one really good grunge come heavy rock album there.

Exactly. Times short to waste on mediocre music. It should’ve been one album with the best songs.Dustofyears wrote:like Black Rider I don't listen to any of them. I still contend that No More Tears is the best song I’ve ever heard that Ozzy sang on. Including Sabbath. Pretty messed up lyrics though (from perspective of a serial killer)Pethead wrote:That doesn’t explain No More Tears.Black Rider wrote:Neither. I don't spend much time with mediocre albums.

Is there any message to the lyrics or are they just messed up for messed up's sake?seth wrote:I still contend that No More Tears is the best song I’ve ever heard that Ozzy sang on. Including Sabbath. Re: Load or ReLoad
I think it’s just Ozzy trying to be dark and creepy for its own sake, that was/is kind of the image he tries to projectStevenCressler wrote:Is there any message to the lyrics or are they just messed up for messed up's sake?seth wrote:I still contend that No More Tears is the best song I’ve ever heard that Ozzy sang on. Re: Load or ReLoad
It’s not even the best song on that album. (Good bass line, though).

Re: Load or ReLoad
The guitar solo on No More Tears is one of Zakk's best. And that bass line is awesome.
I had no idea the lyrics were about a serial killer though (I don't usually pay attention to lyrics, sometimes to my detriment)

Re: Load or ReLoad
I generally prefer Reload.
It's a little more experimental than Load (The Memory Remains, Where The Wild Things Are, Low Man's Lyric...), as well as being a little heavier in places (Fuel, Devil's Dance, Better Than You, Prince Charming...).
Plus it's got a certain sentimental value to me (as do all of their 80s & 90s albums).

If I had to choose… it’s Load.
Reload seems like everything I don’t like about Load pushed further.
