Looking at those artists, this is a very, very broad definition of "speed metal".
Everything from Theocracy to classic metal to Mortification.

There used to be a Megadeth t-shirt in the 80's that said something like 'World's foremost technical speed metal band.' I heard Kirk Hammett once describe Metallica as speed metal.

Metallica: Whiplash and Metal Milita
Judas Priest: Exiter
Helloween: Starlight, Ride the sky and how many tears
Speed and thrash are both played fast. The difference to thrash is that
Speed metal has more melody: melodic higher voice, melodic duelling classical guitars and more based on a faster versing of the NWOBHM.
Thrash has more pounding drums, more bass in the mix, darker or shouted vocals
and some crossover or punk attitude (from my perspective)
As I have heard what you are looking for, Valor but also some Bride songs came to mind:
also
Bride: No matter the price
Bride: Here comes the bride

I keep wanting to start a label so I can release gems like that. I have so little free time though.

Re: Where's the Christian Speed Metal?
The vocals don’t sound like thrash. More like Agent Steel (operatic).

I agree.
It’s kind of like the first Metal Church album. Not quite thrash, but definitely lots of speedy parts.

Is Pain Killer Speed metal? It borders on thrash but could not be called a thrash song, so is that were speed metal sits? I dunno... those first two bride albums are like that with the high ear piercing vocals melodic guitar solos and duels and generally fast but not quite thrash.

Id call Painkiller speed metal for sure. It's rather fast but it's not as aggressive as thrash.Dustofyears wrote:Brides first two albums are my definition of speed metal. I'm still not completely sure what that is anyway, it's quite a vague genre phrase that gets tossed about every which way come Sunday.

To me it sounds like Motorhead. It is does not sound like traditional 80's speed metal such as Agent Steel, Abattoir, or Have Mercy.Temple of Blood wrote:The Enforcer song that was posted basically sounded like Raven to my ears.

Here's a Riot song with Christian lyrics from the Thundersteel lineup

I don't think it sounds like Motorhead or Agent Steel.
I think this sounds like Motorhead:
