The Shortest Straw was my favorite for a long time, but I think One has retaken the top spot again.

Yes. Every song is at least an 8.7/10, with two top-tier songs, one being my favorite of all time. (That last part could be read two ways that would both be correct).

Master of Puppets and Creeping Death are amazing songs. But One is perfection. The slow sections have the perfect sound for the story, the heavy sections are, well, very heavy, it's got a great solo, and the lyrics are especially great. Such a sad story, but it's done so well, and has an important message. But I can see why you'd prefer the other two.

Seems to me that Metallica, Tourniquet, and Megadeth get talked about endlessly when it comes to thrash.
On the "regular" metal side, it's Stryper, Bride/Dale Thompson, and I guess Petra.  

And Vengeance Rising, but for different reasons.

You'd think there would be nothing left to say about any of them but then there's at least 7-10 new posts about these same names every week.

Bloated is true. But That Was Just Your Life has a very memorable riff IMO, as well as Broken, Beat and Scarred.

Shortest Straw is a great song. But Wherever I May Roam has an amazing riff, one of their best imo. It's enough to put it above for me.
