Def Leppard or Bon Jovi?

Going with the Lep on this one, even though I’m a big BJ fan up through Keep the Faith. For DL I like everything through RetroActive. What really sets Lep apart is just how great they are at their best. (I don’t care that they sold out. I like the music).

Bon Jovi.

I like both bands, but Bon Jovi were a little catchier. I still get their songs stuck in my head now & then.

Def Leppard!

The first 3 or 4 albums by Def Lep…after that, they lost me.
They beat out the first 3 or 4 by BJ by a scootch…although I really like the first BJ album.

DL easily. I even like some of their post Retroactive stuff.

Neither.

Def Leppard is pretty hit-or-miss, but at least they have some good songs. I find most of Bon Jovi’s songs to be rather annoying

When it comes to Def Leppard I only know Hysteria (and I remember really liking Pyromania) and as for Bon Jovi there's only Slippery When Wet and New Jersey for me. But since I love Slippery When Wet I'm going with Bon Jovi.

Def Leppard by a small margin. I like both bands but DL has more quality albums.

Def Leppard coz Hysteria is the perfect melodic hard rock album anyone could wish for.

A choice between two "Wine Mom Rock" bands...

I suppose I much prefer Def Leppard's heyday over Jovi's.  DL had a great start, but Jovi was always a chick's rock band.

They are both chick rock bands. WHy hair metal bands get all the "chicks" and death/ thrash metal bands get all the block head male dummies!!! Who smarter then!!! Perm my hair and let's get my new band going!!! Hysteria is somewhat of a guilty pleasure of mine have loved that album since day one.


However I'd take GnR Appetite for Destruction over both those albums. Even if one is sick of the radio songs from the album, Appetite is a perfect take no prisoners second to none hair metal rock n roll album and perhaps the best debut and rock album ever produced.

I find Appetite overrated. Not bad, in fact I think it’s quite good, but overrated. LOVE Slash’s tone, though.

GnR would be so much better if Axl Rose’s voice wasn’t so annoying

I really don’t like nasal voices in general. Ozzy is another example, replacing him with Dio was one of the biggest upgrades I’ve seen in any metal band

Yeah I am starting to realize time and place can play a big factor for one's opinion.

I don’t doubt its influence. But for that sound I’ll take 70s Aerosmith.
