Good songs with disapointing choruses?

What are some songs that are excellent musically and have good buildup on the verses, but the chorus then kicks in and it's not as epic or memorable as you were expecting? I was listening to the new Dokken yesterday, and while a lot of the songs are good, several (though not all) of the choruses are kind of lacking (of course, that's understandable due to Don's vocal problems). Some of the later Def Leppard songs are guilty of this too.

The first one that comes to mind is Holy Soldier’s “Cry out for Love.” The verses are awesome and then the chorus just kinda lets it down.

Most modern Iron Maiden has the laziest choruses imaginable.

Pretty much every song on Whitecross's album "High Gear"

This song kills til the pre-chorus and chorus, total momentum killer:

I like that song, including the chorus, probably mainly out of nostalgia though. TFK was my “gateway drug” into metal as a teenager, and I still like a lot of their music way more than I normally would for a nu-metal band

That songs momentum never made it off the tarmac.

Take It To The Cross.

Probably too many to mention....

Iron Maiden "Invaders" comes to mind.  Sacred Warrior "Black Metal."

...Every Lady Gaga song I've heard except "Just Dance."

“Black Metal” is one of my favorites because of the chorus. I like “Invaders” too. 

“Anonymous” on the new Theocracy has a somewhat weak chorus.

Idk, I kind of like the Anonymous chorus, especially the “paint the skies with your name” part. Imo Theocracy’s worst chorus is on “A Call to Arms”

People say that, but I think that’s a fantastic chorus. 

I’m convinced some of y’all don’t like it when Theocracy is catchy. 

Some of my favorite Theocracy songs are the catchy ones, like The Victory Dance, Hide in the fairy tale, and The wonder of it all. But for some reason most of the second half of Ghost Ship just didn’t do it for me

The Wonder of It All is an interesting one because its best part isn’t its chorus; it’s the parts where they go through the various “wonders” of the gospel. (E.g. “Die to live and live to die,” etc).

Van Halen: Love Walks In. Love the song—it has one of my favorite EVH solos—but the chorus is the weakest part.

Idk, but a good example of the opposite is Money For Nothing by Dire Straits. Excellent riff, catchy chorus, very strange and underwhelming verses.

The first one that comes to mind is For The Greater Good Of God by Iron Maiden.  It's a really strong song overall but that chorus is definitely the weakest part...

Idk, Superjuice, the chorus to Masquerade is part of why I love it... it's slow but slow doesn't mean bad

A Call To Arms is the worst Theocracy song (it's still be one of the better Stryper or Whitecross songs though)
