It's true.  Whenever I buy a new CD, I keep the case and toss the CD, replacing it with a Slayer CD instead.  Just this morning I was in the mood for Powerslave so I pulled it off my self, opened the case, and took out Reign In Blood to play.

Also, my Slayer list goes to 11.

No kidding! I edited four times because it was hard to decide.

I would add Scorpions and Great White to my list. If you’re on a desert island (surrounded by ocean), gotta have some Great White!

I'm like Kerrick, I haven't listened to very much secular music through the years (fundamentalist upbringing), so the list is hard in the sense that I have to find 10 bands that I really like.

I’d prefer to cherry-pick my albums because I don’t actually like every album in a band or artist’s catalog. And I would have a much better variety of stuff too!

Agreed. I hate 1/2 the U2 albums and am "meh" about 1/2 of the catalog of some of my other choices like Dream Theater & Megadeth, but I have to choose them b/c their best albums are among my favourites.

Sure, well because of the rules of this particular exercise, I didn't pick Fleetwood Mac because some of their albums are downright awful.  Otherwise they would have been on there.  But that's okay, there's still plenty to listen to.

That was indeed very difficult.
In the end there were many different bands that I really like but decided to go classic with Megadeth (also colossal discography helps)

I had to pick Metallica (including the crap years) because it’s the only way to get the first four albums. To me, 1983-1988 is the gold standard of metal. Metallica could do no wrong. I even like a portion of TBA.

OK I'm gonna cheat a bit. I'm also trying to keep it from being one dimensional, so these might not necessarily be my favourite secular metal artists.
