Two more of my favorites, but I’m going Idle Cure by a smidge. I love all 5 of their albums, whereas D&K have some stuff I’m not big on.

Yep, have to go with Idle Cure.   I do really like SOME D&K material, especially the "To Extremes" album from the 90's.   
And I certainly appreciate their great contributions to the Christian music scene.  But as far as pure listening enjoyment, I more fond of Idle Cure's song-writing, sound, and style.

My impression was Degarmo and Key was some sort of soft rock, mild AOR. I've literally never heard anything from them for that reason until they came up in another thread recently. Is there an album worth taking a glance at?

Idle Cure has just enough grit for me to enjoy their smooth style. Solid band. I have all but their debut and enjoy them occasionally.

Idle Cure!  They were by far more consistent with their sound and songwriting.  They just got better and better until they died off abruptly.

Idle cure is amazing. I would choose them over a lot of bands in the Christian rock scene. A band that release five albums on the same level of quality deserves some respect.
