“Salt of the Earth“, the first single from the album is an uplifting melodic power metal hymn, perfect for fans of bands like Helloween, Stratovarius, Gamma Ray, Stryper and Theocracy! The single is available on all digital platforms and you can check out the music video on YouTube below.
“Undivided” was produced, mixed and mastered by Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Kamelot, Evergrey) and the epic artwork was created by Uwe Jarling (Grave Digger, Mystic Prophecy). Guests on the album includes guitarists Jimi Cimbala (No Control), Daniel J. Fries (Affector) and vocalist David Åkesson (Moonlight Agony, Quantice, Symphonity).
The songwriting on “Undivided” is really strong and the songs that ended up on the album were cherry picked from many. On the album you will find fast power metal songs, epic heavy metal songs, lots of catchy melodies, neoclassical influences and uplifting lyrics. Throughout the entire album you hear the strong musicianship that Signum Regis are known for, crowned by the excellent vocal delivery by Jota Fortinho!
The album marks the return of SIGNUM REGIS to Ulterium Records, the label where the band released three successful releases between 2013-2015: “Exodus“, “Through the Storm” and “Chapter IV: The Reckoning“.
Don’t miss out on “Undivided“, an impressive uplifting power metal album that should be perfect for fans of melodic power metal and heavy metal and bands like Helloween, Stratovarius, Gamma Ray, Stryper and Theocracy!

I get that. I actually am way more excited about Theocracy in general. However, though Return to Dust is great, it sunk in right away and seemed like Ghost Ship part 2 (simple structure, monster riff, catchy chorus). I really enjoyed it but wasn't amazed. Mosaic, the second single, didn't excite me at all. It sounded like just another good Theocracy track. As a single I was hoping for something way more.
Maybe I should say I'm more curious about Signum Regis while still hoping the rest of the Theocracy disc will blow me away. As a general rule I prefer Theocracy. Signum Regis, I am curious about creating their first true classic, anticipating and hoping for it. Theocracy I'm hoping for another in their line of classics.

Already found someone, thanks.Sevenoneself wrote:Karam, if you're still looking for a review, I'd be up for it. My daughter has been playing Daniel's Prophecy non-stop the last few days; this has been her first introduction to Signum Regis and she's loving it!

Interesting to think about my mindset above. Theocracy did Theocracy at a really high level. No surprises other than general heaviness and the even better than expected result. Signum Regis is still going to surprise and challenge me (I hope) but I can't imagine it competing with Mosaic at all.
Super curious to hear if they pull it altogether with Jota. I love his voice but Seal of a New World wasn't as solid as the previous albums with Mayo.

Theocracy is definitely a force to be reckoned with! And it sorta sucks for any other power metal band to release an album the same year haha. Though I'd put SR and Theocracy in two different categories. They have their similarities of course, but IMO they're going for different sounds. SR is a bit more straight-forward and anthemic whereas Theocracy is more progressive and epic.
Frozen Fire, I totally agree about Seal... but the samples I've heard from Undivided sound mighty strong. I have pretty high expectations for this one.

Musically I tend to lean towards SR over Theocracy

Tough call…I love both bands but to me they are different types of metal…I couldn’t compare for that reason.Son of Nun wrote:Signum Regis > Theocracy
