CHRIST RISING - Christian Sludge Doom

Don't know where this band is from, but looks like they released their first single in 2022 and have an E.P. just released on VOG Records.

The music has been described as either Sludge Doom or Funeral Doom....take your pick since it seems like it could go either way.  Their next release is reported to be traditional doom.

What's unique about this band is that they record 2 versions of their songs....one with guttural vocals and another with clean vocals.

I prefer the clean singing but again, take your pick....

Not my style (at all), but it was still pretty cool.  Love to hear christian stuff in all different styles.

I wish them well.  I could only handle about 30 seconds of that.  I do hope that they are able to reach people who are into that scene.

I know that Duane from VOGR is the vocalist.  I *think* this is basically his project, though I'm not sure who did the rest of the instrumentation and whether it's a full band or solo effort.

That song sounds pretty gothic doom imo, kind of a Paradise Lost sound from back in the day.

The bit I’ve heard sounded pretty good to me. Gonna check it out further.

We need more Christian bands in this style.

I wish the production was a little crisper but it's a good listen. The clean version has a Savior Machine quality.
